  1. Learn something new with SF Rec & Parks. Browse the spring catalog for hundreds of free or low cost courses starting this month–all kinds of arts, sports, dance, exercise and fitness, social, and science and technology classes–there’s something for everyone and all ages. General registrations begins Saturday, March 2 at 10:00 am.
  2. Take a walking tour for Women’s History Month. San Francisco City Guides offers 70 unique walking tours year-round, and they’re always a fun way to play tourist in your own city. Check out these tours for a special focus to the women who helped shape our city.
  3. Get your green on for SF’s 173rd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration on Saturday, March 16 from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm. The theme this year is UniteSF. The parade starts at 2nd and Market Streets and heads down Market Street to Civic Center Plaza where the rest of the celebration will be held, with food, drinks, and live music and dance performances. More info here.
  4. Enjoy the start of cherry blossom season. Catch them at the Japanese Tea Garden, which is the oldest public Japanese Tea Garden in the United States. (Free to San Francisco residents with ID.) Lindley meadow in Golden Gate Park also has several cherry trees. And keep your eyes open for cherry blossoms throughout the city in residential neighborhoods, gardens, and other local green spaces such as the Presidio and the Palace of Fine Arts.
  5. Spend Easter with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at their annual celebration in Dolores Park on Sunday, March 31. More info coming soon, but the schedule will likely be similar to past years with Children’s Easter beginning at 10:00 a.m. (Easter bunny, Easter egg hunt, and other family friendly activities), followed by afternoon festivities for adults including drag performances, an Easter bonnet competition, and the popular Foxy Mary and Hunky Jesus contests.
