5 Fun Things to Do in San Francisco in February

Writings about residential real estate, San Francisco, and all things home, by Lisa Auer, J.D. of Kindred SF Homes

  1. Celebrate the Year of the Dragon! The first day of the Lunar New Year is Saturday, February 10, but there are events happening all month long, culminating with the beloved Chinese New Year Parade on February 24–the biggest Lunar New Year parade outside of Asia. See this guide for more info.
  2. Enjoy a laugh at Mortified’s Doomed Valentine’s Show on Friday, February 9 at 7:30 at DNA Lounge. Adults share their most embarrassing childhood writings/artwork/media. I’ve seen the live show a few times, and it’s always different and hilarious. Tickets here.
  3. View the magnificent magnolias in bloom at the San Francisco Botanical Garden–one of the largest and oldest collections of magnolias in the United States, with over 200 of these elegant trees. Peak bloom is usually early to mid-February. Free to San Francisco residents with ID.
  4. Explore craft beers and more during San Francisco Beer Week February 9-18. Check out the events calendar for all kinds of tastings and pairings, including beer and cookies, tacos and trivia, cheesecake and stout, and dim sum beer brunch.
  5. Find some cooking inspiration at Omnivore Books on Food in Noe Valley. Browse their fabulous selection of new and vintage books on food and drink, join their cookbook club, or attend one of several upcoming author events.

And go Niners!
